Decorating Tips for a Fun and Unique Party
It is unbelievable how creative and fun some party themes can be. I have recently been to my cousin's party to celebrate his youngest daughter's birthday. Amy, the little one, was turning five and she invited a few of her kindergarten friends over. To make it more fun, my cousin invited some family and a few of his own friends to celebrate his daughter's special day.
When I entered his house I was simply amazed by the decoration. He completely transformed the first floor into a jungle. With a few inflatable palms, plastic vines and a mysterious mist coming from a humidifier, the house looked simply incredible. There was even some music playing, which was imitating the sounds of jungle animals and birds. How creative!
What is more, he created a special corner for the kids. This is the part which amazed me the most. In the corner of the living room he laid a small green tarp on the floor and added a nice tall inflatable palm. Then he added a few plush animals of various sizes. It was quite a jungle! Stuffed lions, stuffed giraffes and even a big stuffed gorilla were resting around the colorful palm. My cousin told me that this was the "picture corner." All the kids could take pictures in the "jungle," so that they have nice memories to take with them. Moreover, all the cute stuffed animals were there for the kids to take home. Well, almost all of them, since the big gorilla was Amy's.
Needless to say, the party was a big hit. The plush animals really gave life to the entire house and the children loved them. Even for us, the adults, the stuffed toys definitely cheered us up and made us enjoy even more. My cousin was very happy of how things turned out and he also shared a little secret with me. Despite the fact that everything looked hard to make, he said it took him less than one hour to set it up. He ordered the stuffed animals online and a few of the other decoration, so all he was left to do was to randomly place them around the house. I have to say, he really had a great idea!
A few weeks later, I was invited over my friend's house to celebrate her ten year wedding anniversary. Wouldn't you know it! She took my cousin's idea and personalized it. She created this teddy bear themed party, as her husband's name is Theodor and everyone calls him Teddy and their family name is Bruin. I would have never imagined that this stuffed animal theme could work so well in other occasions. But I can tell you one thing: it sure does and it creates a lovely atmosphere. So go ahead, get creative and let plush toys inspire you!
