Type of Games You Can Play at a Stuffed Animal Party
My soon to be 6 year old decided that she wants a stuffed animal party in celebration of her big day. Her idea was for every little girl to bring her favorite plush toy so that they can play with them together. Although this theme is quite great, I had to be quite inventive and transform everything into a stuffed animals universe. Since, girls at this age get bored of one game very easily; I had to come up with enough games to make sure the party was fun and full of laughter.
We had ten girls attending the party. And the best thing I ever did was to make sure I have a few extra stuffed animals and teddy bears available. Had I not done that, I would have surely had two girls at least, being upset. One of them forgot her teddy bear in her mom’s car and the other one lost her favorite plush dog at school. That called for a disaster. However, with my safety stack ready everyone was geared up and ready to play. Here are some of the games they played:
The Stuffed Animals Treasure Hunt
Before the girls came to the party I hid a teddy bear somewhere in the house. Then, I drew clues on little post-it notes and gave the first clue to my daughter’s plush dog. Fluffy was giving the girls the first clue for the hunt. Then, they would all talk to each other and ask their stuffed animals for advice trying to figure out where the next clue might be. I planted various other clues around the living room until finally someone would discover the location of the teddy bear. Once found, the teddy bear would have the final clue to where the cookies were hidden. Of course I got teddy bear cookies, to keep the theme alive. It was lots of fun and helped the girls connect.
Pin the Tail on the Bunny
This game was not so inventive, but it was lots of fun nevertheless. I used my daughter’s big stuffed bunny she had from Easter. I simply placed it on the ground with its back turned to the girls and then I made a tale out of Velcro and some bandanas. The Velcro would stick to the bunny’s fur, just enough to see if the contestant did it right. We played in teams and the team who one (pinned the tail more times) would be the first to take pictures in t he bunny’s lap. Again, it was fun and kept the girls busy.
Stuffed Animals Fairy Tale
In between the stuffed animal crackers and the cake we had enough time to play this last game. We created a fairy tale using everyone’s toy. Every plush dog, stuffed cats and teddy bears had its very own role in this magical story. Even the stuffed raccoon had a very impressive role. We decided on the story as we were going along. The one thing I had to make sure was that every stuffed animal had its unique role and that no little girl felt less important. So, when everyone wanted to be a princess, I left all of them to become their own princess. The story became quite beautiful. These magical plush princesses were in search of the palace where queen’s birthday was celebrated. They had to overcome obstacles and scary forests, but in the end, by helping each other they found the palace and made it to the party.
Needless to say that everyone had a great time and my daughter couldn’t stop saying that this is the best birthday she has ever had. She said that she thinks being six started on a good note. I believe so too. It was a really fun party, she made friends with more girls and I realized that I can through her a party even on a small budget. I would definitely recommend a stuffed animals party to anyone!
