Your child's room and playroom are the most fun and colorful places in the house. However, they can often become the most disorganized rooms in the house as well. Toys, stuffed animals and games can flood the floor without any organization whatsoever. So, in order to avoid having to clean up every two hours, and fearing to have guests visit your son or daughter's room, just keep in mind the following tips:

Key Tip #1: Storage

To keep the area nice and neat, you will need to make some space for storage items. Even if your child's room is small, there is always a way to find some space for storage. In the long run, you will see how much room they save. Even if you used the floor space to the max, do not worry. We have some ideas that can fit even that scenario.

The ideal storage for a kid's room are fabric boxes. They are sturdy enough to hold most toys and plush animals, yet they are soft enough to be safe against any incidents. There are many sizes available, and also many colors to choose from which makes it easy to find the appropriate one to feet your needs. Once you chose a few colorful boxes, place them in the empty corners of the room or right next to the end of the bed. To keep it even more organized, get different sized storage baskets in order to fit various sized toys and assign colors for each type of toys. For example use the small red basket to keep small toys such as cars, games and others. Use a bigger green box for larger toys such as plush toys and dolls. Extra large teddy bears and other big toys can be neatly placed on the floor by themselves or on beds, dressers, etc.

In case your floor space is very limited, here is a very useful tip: use hanging storage. Nothing says play like a colorful hanging wall basket with pockets. It is extremely functional and it saves a lot of space. Hang one of them on the door, or next to the window and you can waive your storage worries good-bye!

With all this storage, all you need to do is grab everything from the floor, the usual hanging-out place for toys and place them inside the bins. It will take less than 5 minutes to turn a room from cluttered to neat.

Key Tip #2: Functionality

What would make a room look organized and stay organized is functionality. No matter how little space you have and how many toys your child has, you can always have it look ready for visitors. The key idea is to use the space and each piece of furniture for a purpose.

For example, you can arrange the room furniture in such a way that you leave some room for storage boxes and boxes. You can also get a higher bed, or add leg extensions under the current one to be able to create some room underneath. Then, you can put smaller toys in a storage box and then hide them underneath the bed. To make cleaning up a little easier, you can create categories, the same way we mentioned above.
