A Few Fun Filled Nursery Decorating Ideas

Congratulations! Whether this is your first baby or not the joy you experience as an expecting parent is always amazing. Amidst all the fun things you need to do while preparing for the new member of the family to arrive, is to designate and decorate the new baby’s room. No matter how creative you are, or what your planned budget is, we put these fun filled ideas together so that you put together an amazing nursery.

Besides making the nursery a fun room for the baby to live in, we also included some practical tips for you. Because in the midst of everything, we do have to think that a lot of baby care will happen in that room, so we need some useful items that will help you take care of your new son or daughter. Let’s get started! Just to make it easier, we imagined an empty room. If you already passed the painting, you can skip a few steps to the part that interests you the most.

Teddy Bears Nursery

It is the most popular theme out there. There is something about a teddy bear that makes it irresistibly cute. Just like your new baby.

Painting and Colors

To create a fun teddy bear theme start by painting the walls in a lively color. Green, pink, yellow, brown or any color combination which will make the room spark. Choose a rug which will compliment the shades of the walls. If you chose pink, go for a creamy rug, or for green walls a dark green would go well. Next, we need to find the right furniture.

Furniture

Although a baby’s room does not need much furniture a few items are essential. The crib, of course, is the baby’s sleeping heaven and it is a must. Also, a changing table and a dresser, or clothing cabinet, are a close second. You do need a place were you can change diapers, as you will do that sport a few times during the day; also you will start accumulating many garments and you need a place to store all these little clothes. They might be small, but they still require a place of their own. A small couch, a love seat or a twin bed are also recommended, if the nursery is big enough to hold them. As a parent, you will spend a lot of time in there, so you want to make sure you have some space to relax or spend next to your baby. Plus, all your relatives will want to come and see your little one, so it is always great to have a place to sit. Not to mention that if that will be the baby’s permanent room a bed is a must as he or she grows older, so you are actually saving yourself the trouble later on. You can also add a little nightstand right next to either of them. As extra furniture you can add a little baby armchair with a table or a little ottoman. Neither is necessary, but they will surely make the room look cute.

Accessories and Décor

Now, the room is ready to be “accessorized”. Start by choosing a teddy bear themed-bedding. Do not worry, your wallet will not cry because of this. You can spend as much as you want on the bedding, but rest assured, there are many options out there that would not devastate your savings. After all, a new baby is a big investment on its own. Once that is all done start decorating the room. Throw a blanket with an imprinted teddy bear picture on the back of the love seat and place a big teddy, the actual plush animal, in one of the corners of the bed or loveseat. Get some smaller teddy bears and place them on the changing table. This works best if the table is propped next to the wall. You can align the plush toys right next to the wall. You would be surprised how this happy changing table might even keep the baby from crying while you are taking care of the diapers.

If you decided to go for a night stand, you can place a teddy bear frame on it and have it all ready for that great new family picture you are about to take once the baby comes. If you want to go all the way, find a stuffed animals themed lamp or lamp shade and place it right next to the photo frame. That should add even more spark to the room. If also added a dresser the frame and some cute stuffed animals would be the perfect addition to the whole ambiance of the room. Last but not least, take care of the windows by adding some nice drapes or valances. Choose colors that would compliment the colors of the furniture, or the walls and rug. If the room has too much light during the day, drapes might be better than valances, and the opposite would go for a darker room.

This is it! You created your fun filled nursery for your new baby. With some bright colors, basic furniture, teddy bears and themed décor you transformed a room into a new baby’s heaven. Incorporate some our practical tips and you will also make it a heavenly place for your wallet as well.
