Traditional Easter Games and Some New Fun Easter Activities - Part II

Spring brings lots of great things: sun, warmth, blooming trees and...Easter! Easter is one of the favorite holidays through-out the year by many of us. Adults are happy to meet friends and family, and children are happy to go hunting for eggs, receive presents and play. And although we think that the egg hunt is enough to keep the kids busy the entire Easter Sunday, we might have to come up with a few more ideas in order to really keep them entertained.

Just to make your job easier here are a few Easter games that are surely going to be lots of fun and occupy a good amount of time.

Easter Egg Piñata

The traditional piñata with an Easter Spirit. It is easy to build and a guaranteed success. Get a piñata or build one, whichever you find more appropriate. You can create one by using some cardboard, newspaper, tape and tissue paper or you can purchase one from a party store, as they will surely have something related to Easter during that time. To make it more authentic, you can fill the piñata with chocolate or candy eggs, little chocolate bunnies and other Easter candy. If you are trying to stay away from having the kids have too much sugar around you can mix in some little Easter stuffed animals. Mix in some stuffed chicks, plush baby ducks or some stuffed bunnies for a piñata that screams fun and Easter.

Once you have it all built, the game is on. Have the kids take turns trying to brake the piñata. Be sure to put it at a safe distance, as you do not want any of the objects inside to fall from too high up as it might hit them. Also, be sure that you attach the top of the piñata to something that it will hold it in place well enough. You do not want to take the chance of the piñata falling at one of the swings. Once you have all that set, swing away to an Easter full of fun!

Pin the Chick on the Egg

We all know about pinning the tail on the donkey. But have you played pin the chick on the egg? It is easy to create, as it is easy to create and it doesn’t require too many props. Start by creating an "egg" from any piece of cardboard. You can cover it with some tissue paper and "paint" it or leave it as it is. It is up to you haw much time you want to spend on it. Tape some tweed on the back of the egg, so that it creates a small hoop which you can use to hang it. Just like paintings or frames usually have them. Then you find a good pot to hang it. The inside of the entrance door or the house side of the basement door are usually good places to start. Now for the pinned chicks. Get a few small plush chicks and tape some double sided tape on their bottoms or on their beaks. Lie them down in a box and you are all set.

At this point it becomes similar to the pin the tail on the donkey. Tie a small wrap around the first contestant’s eyes and spin them around so that they are a little disoriented as to where they are. Then ask them to find the egg and "pin" the chick at the top of the egg, as if they were coming out. Have the other kids either cheer or guide him or her while they make their attempt to pin the chick. This is an easy to play and extremely fun game which will keep the kids entertained for a good amount of time. As a reward, you can give the little chick to the child who manages to actually pin it on top of the egg.

There you go! Two extra fun and simple games that you can have the children play during Easter. They will keep the children busy and entertained and they will keep everyone in a happy spring mood.
